Logistics & Supply Chain

Centrally located with access to a deep water port in the Port of Freeport, Fort Bend County is strategically positioned to access domestic markets in Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin and into the central United States and international markets across the globe.  The county is intersected by Interstate 69 which creates an East-West corridor and the expansion and proposed extension of Highway 36A creates a North-South connection. Adding in three rail lines that converge in Rosenberg, large tracts of land, and access to the rest Greater Houston, Fort Bend County is ideal for companies charged with logistics and supply chain management.

Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree is one of Fort Bend’s newest companies. The one million square foot facility is located in Rosenberg with over 500 employees.  Dollar Tree identified access to markets across the state and the Southern US as one of the reasons that led to the choice to be in Fort Bend. The City of Rosenberg extended utilities down Interstate 69 to this site, opening up miles of developable land along I69.

Aldi

“We looked at over 20 sites initially when deciding where to put the distribution center. Access to (the Grand Parkway), as well as access to Highway 69 and Interstate 10 allows us to get to the entire Houston marketplace as well as future markets like San Antonio and Austin.”

Karla Waddleton, Aldi Vice President, Rosenberg Division
