Students who claim Fort Bend County cities as their home towns have moved on and received honors and graduated from colleges and university across the country.

Compiled here are some of the latest honorees, including:

University of Iowa dean’s list

IOWA CITY, Iowa — More than 7,400 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the dean’s list for the 2020 fall semester. Local students on the list include:

  Kevin Anthony of Stafford — College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Primary Area of Study: Economics.

  Phoebe Dillard of Richmond — College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Primary Area of Study: English and Creative Writing.

  Sai Meghana Palagiri of Richmond —College of Engineering; Primary Area of Study: Biomedical Engineering.

  Salvatore Quaid of Richmond —College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Primary Area of Study: Physics.

University of Wisconsin-Stout graduates

MENOMONIE, Wis. — The following students from Sugar Land graduated in December 2020 from University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis.: Rachel Kosier, MS Operations & Supply Management; and Vanessa Wang, MS Risk Control & Safety Management.

Andrea Kohlenberg

WHEATON, Ill. — Wheaton College student Andrea Kohlenberg of Sugar Land was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester. To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

Liam Jerez

DES MOINES, Iowa — Liam Jerez of Sugar Land has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.749, in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Phoebe Dillard

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Phoebe Dillard of Richmond was among the almost 900 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the president’s list for the 2020 fall semester. Dillard is a student in the Iowa’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is majoring in English and Creative Writing.

Ouachita Baptist Dean’s List

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. Ouachita Baptist University has named 396 students to its Fall 2020 Dean’s List. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must compile at least a 3.5 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 academic hours and have no incomplete or failing grade for the semester.

Area students on the list include Jordyn Rosborough of Missouri City and Lexa Levermann of Sugar Land.

Sam Houston State President’s List

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The students listed on the President’s Honor Roll at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, are undergraduates who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours. The university would like to recognize the following students for earning the honor for the Fall 2020 semester. Local students on the list include:

Georgia Tech Graduates

ATLANTA, Ga. — The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students who earned their degrees during the Fall 2020 semester and were recognized during the Institute’s 259th Commencement exercises December 11-12, 2020, at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Area students on the list include:

Letourneau University graduates

LONGVIEW, Texas — LeTourneau University held Fall 2020 commencement services recently for around 200 graduates who received bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Among them were:

Stewart Jenkins of Katy with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Jerimy Haase of Sugar Land with a Bachelor of Business Management, Summa Cum Laude.

Jervon Monroe

CONWAY, S.C. — There were 930 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University named to the Presdient’s List for the Fall 2020 semester. That’s 10 percent of the student body with a 4.0 GPA for the fall semester, including Jervon Monroe a Theatre Arts major from Sugar Land.

University of Delaware Dean’s List

NEWARK, Del. — Students in Richmond have been named to the University of Delaware Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester. They are Adetayo Adetunji and Lauryn Richardson.

Shane Harding

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Shane Harding of Missouri City has been named to the American International College Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester. Dean’s List students are full time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA. AIC commends the efforts and accomplishments of these scholars during this unprecedented time.

University of Alabama graduates

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama awarded some 2,257 degrees during its fall commencement Dec. 12. Students from Missouri City include Ashley Boyd, who received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration; and Ginger Camp, who received a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean’s list. Lauren Beaman of Missouri City made the list. Beaman was among more than 5,300 students named to the fall 2020 dean’s list.

Texas A&M-Kingsville Students Honored

KINGSVILLE — Texas A&M University-Kingsville has released the names of the students who made the President’s List, Dean’s List and Honor Roll for the fall 2020 semester.

Among the area students making the grade were Paracleta Chiagozigom Nnadi of Sugar Land; Brissa Acevedo of Rosenberg; and Madison Danielle Rigsby and Morgan Jaylin Rigsby of Richmond.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jacob Gamboa of Richmond earned dean’s list distinction for the fall 2020 semester, one of nearly 400 undergraduate students to be recognized.

Iowa State University Dean’s List

AMES, Iowa — More than 11,000 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2020 Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

Among the area students on the list are Lucille Ciara Jonas, senior from Katy, Animal Science; and Harrison Hatswell Keast, freshman from Sugar Land, Pre-Architecture, and Nikole Larue Vollmer, junior from Katy, Integrated Studio Arts.

Natalie Quinteros

FAYETTE, Mo. — Central Methodist University announced the students included on the Fall 2020 Dean’s List. Natalie Quinteros, of Richmond joined more than 1,000 students across all CMU campuses met the requirements for placement, including a grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the semester.

Krutarthi Sheth

DeKALB, Ill. — More than 1,300 students received their degrees from Northern Illinois University in December. Included among the graduates was Krutarthi Sheth of Missouri City who earned a Master of Business Administration.
